abbeyless Iona

five days on Iona; I may well be the only person to visit there this summer who did not visit the Abbey. But I did get sun-burnt


and I also got very wet, about an hour after this.

It became clear that I am not as fit as I was the last time I got lost on a boggy moor in heavy rain.
But I did eventually make it to the beach




The highland in the centre of Iona is covered in orchids.

When we got home I found I had a squatter in my room; this is not the first time one of these creatures has got in here; peculiar. Is this a youngster or is it anadult pipistrelle?
